Hon. Sir Adewale “Murphy” Olatunji has emerged as a pivotal figure in yesterday’s solidarity walk in Ibadan, where he rallied support against the Oyo State government’s proposed borrowing of 300 billion Naira. This protest comes amid a staggering 500% increase in monthly allocations from the federal government to the state.

Olatunji, who has been vocal about the need for fiscal responsibility, expressed deep appreciation for the citizens, leaders, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who joined the march. He emphasised that their collective voices are essential in advocating for responsible governance and prudent financial management.

“Together, we stand firm in our belief that our voices matter and will not be silenced,” Olatunji stated. His participation during the rally highlighted his commitment to transparency and accountability in the state’s financial dealings, particularly in light of Hon. Ibrahim Shittu’s recent exposures regarding the 300 billion naira loan and state’s internally generated revenue.

The event was not just a protest but a call to action, with Olatunji urging residents to remain vigilant against any political victimisation faced by advocates of responsible governance, including Shittu. “May God protect Hon. Ibraheem Shittu and guide us all towards a brighter future for Oyo State,” he declared.

Olatunji’s resolve to foster positive change resonates with many residents, reinforcing the sentiment that Oyo State deserves a government that prioritises the welfare of its citizens.
