Sports: Soji Akanbi Celebrates 3SC’s Return To NPFL, Lauds Makinde, Club’s Mgt
The Founder, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation(RAAF), Senator Adesoji Akanbi has congratulated Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC on its return to Nigerian Professional Football League.
Oluyole Warriors, as 3SC has been fondly referred to by admirers, had defeated Ekiti United FC 6-0, yesterday, on aggregate to secure promotion to NPFL from Nigerian National League.
Okanlomo of Ibadanland also commended Governor Makinde of Oyo-State for what he described as a job well done in providing resources and supports for the Club to return to top flight Nigerian League.
Former Senator representing Oyo South District, in the National Assembly, between 2015 to 2019, Akanbi in his congratulatory message to 3SC saluted the doggedness and team spirit exhibited by the players to return to NPFL.
“The hope of the players to return to NPFL was dashed out last year due to COVID-19 pandemic. I sincerely acknowledge the good work done by the coaching crew and management team of our darling 3SC.
“Returning Oluyole Warriors to the era of late Ibadan Philanthropist, Chief Lekan Salami should be the priority of players and relevant stakeholders. I want to urge everyone to support 3SC in order to reclaim its lost position as football club to reckon with in Nigeria and on the African continent.
“Bringing Crown FC Ogbomoso to victory should be the next target of the state government in the area of sports development. This will no doubt make Oyo State home of talented footballers without neglecting other sections of sports”, Akanbi stated.
