The Birth of A Senate Supporters Club
for The 10th Nat’l Assembly | By Dr Johnny Benjamin
The 10th National Assembly in Nigeria has a Senate Supporters Club, which aims to support the Senate in its quest to carry out its legislative functions and improve the lives of Nigerians.
The initiator and convener of the club, Mr. Joseph Wayas Junior said in statement that the vision of the club is to build a strong, effective, and efficient Senate by providing support, encouragement, and guidance to the Senators as they carry out their duties.
The club seeks to promote good governance, accountability, and transparency in the Senate by advocating for legislation that improves the lives of Nigerians, such as bills that promote economic and social development, support education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
The goals of the club include campaigning for the re-election of Senators who have a track record of good performance and supporting the Senate’s efforts to improve its operations and efficiency.
Among other things, the group will work with all the members and leadership of the 10th Senate in ensuring proper management of the affairs of the country by providing the required legislative functions and oversights.
The group is also going to serve as mediators between the people and the Senate, by liaising and mediating in order to bring about proper implementation of people orient policies, projects and programs.
We therefore call on all well meaning Nigerians, individuals and groups to identify with us as we step out to bring about a new partnership with the Senate and by extension the national Assembly.
