Beauty, they say, is in the eyes of the beholder. Our individuality makes us unique, significant and beautiful. Though we interprete beauty differently, our uniqueness (U), significance (S) and beauty (B) are better recognised, weighed and appreciated when we live in pure honesty, originality and integrity. Apart from making impacts and developing oneself, one other major thing we do not really pay attention to about our USB is our health. Health in general terms begins with one’s genotype, blood group, allergies, check ups, food combination, weather compatibility and a few other lifestyle pick up.
Today’s gist is all about you. It will not shock you to know that some grown ups do not know their genotype. Do you know yours? When was the last time you had a basic medical check up? How about allergies? Got any? As much as science states that adaptation is one of the characteristics of living things, our USB as made it so that our body will react to things differently. Your life is significant but the moment you can no longer see beauty in the things around, find it easy to do the things you used to do, or appreciate the things available to you, then you will understand the insignificance of life.
In the last four weeks, I have – with the help of God, my mom, medical personnels and loved ones – tried to pay attention to my health. During the first three weeks, I appreciated the ability to ‘waka’ better. At a point in all of these, I also understood fully what king Solomon (one of the bible characters) meant when he said in the Holy Bible “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity”. (Ecclesiastes 1:2; 12:8)
So, while things still make sense to you and you can appreciate beauty and do what you desire to do, take care of yourself, do not ignore your health and remember to invest in posterity. Do not allow an unchecked health condition rid you of your USB. Cheers to the coming holiday.
