Traders Overjoyed As Adelabu Lights Up Adedibu Market At Molete

Market Traders Celebrate Minister for Restoring Light, Ensuring Safety, Business Growth at Molete.
Market men and women at Adebibu Market, located under the Molete Bridge in Ibadan, have expressed deep appreciation to the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, for providing solar-powered street lights to the market. The new lights have brought relief and renewed hope to traders who had operated in darkness for many years.
Speaking to journalists at the market, Chief Ismaila Adekunle, popularly known as Eric, the Babaloja of Adedibu Market, Molete, described the intervention as timely and thoughtful. He said the market had suffered from poor lighting for a very long time, making business difficult and unsafe, especially during evening hours.

According to Adekunle, many past leaders passed by the market, but none considered rescuing the traders from the long-standing darkness.

Chief Ismaila Adekunle explained that the solar street lights would greatly improve business activities in the market. He noted that traders would no longer be forced to close early because of darkness, while customers could comfortably continue shopping without fear. This development, he said, would lead to increased sales and better livelihoods for market men and women.
Several traders also shared their joy, saying the lights have changed the look and feel of the market. They described the project as a clear sign that the minister understands the daily struggles of ordinary people and remains committed to improving their lives through practical and people-orientated actions.
On behalf of the entire market community, Chief Ismaila Adekunle (Eric), alongside Chief Mrs Mariam Abudulasisi Ola Sheu, the Iya Loja of Adedibu Market, Molete, jointly thanked Chief Adebayo Adelabu for remembering the market. They praised the minister’s leadership style and strong concern for grassroots development, describing the solar lighting project as a lasting solution that will benefit the market for many years.
The market leaders also appreciated the minister’s personal assistant, Sir Ajiboye Akande (AJI), for his love and consistent support for the market. The market leaders further assured that the entire Adedibu market community would stand solidly behind Chief Adebayo Adelabu, fondly known as Penkelemesi, in his future political ambitions, describing their support as a show of gratitude to a leader who brought light, safety, and progress to their market.
