A leading Oyo South Senatorial Hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), come 2023, Honourable Abimbola Adekanmbi has commiserated with the Chief Mourner, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo-State, the state Traditional Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oyo Mesi, the immediate family of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi-III, the Alaafin of Oyo, and all illustrious descendants of the ancient city of Oyo over the demise of His Imperial Majesty.
In his message of condolence, the seasoned financial pundit described the death of Oba Adeyemi as a shock to him and a great loss to Oyo kingdom, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole stating that the Alaafin had been a valuable asset to Yoruba land and a rare blessing to humanity.
The internationally trained forensic Accountant, Adekanmbi said he vividly recalled that the late Alaafin was a very affable, peaceful, prosperous and progress-loving father who was always interested in the growth and progress of people without minding their creed or colour.
“History has it that Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s antecedents before he even became the Alaafin depicted him not just as a good father but a profound leader with an uncommon capacity to identify best brains and give them proper support. The feat and disposition which Kabiesi sustained throughout his 52 purposeful, peaceful and prosperous reign on the throne of his ancestors”, former finance commissioner, Adekanmbi lauded.
“I will surely miss Kabiesi, sorely, but I take solace in the fact that Baba was a great success as Alaafin of Oyo Empire. May God repose his soul in paradise and give the bereaved fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” Former Deputy Chief of Staff(DCOS), Adekanmbi prayed.
