Tribute: Gov Akeredolu Was A Humane Leader—Barr Agbaje
Barrister Akeem Agbaje, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has mourned the late Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
Barr Agbaje penned heartfelt words, describing Governor Akeredolu as a humane leader with a bold and courageous spirit. Beyond his fearless demeanour, Akeredolu was remembered as a man who ardently fought for fairness and approached leadership with a unique blend of professionalism and humanity, Agbaje stated.
Reflecting on Akeredolu’s impact, Barr Agbaje remarked, “Aketi meant different things to different people, but everyone agreed he was a leader in every sense, a different kind of leader.” The legal luminary emphasised Akeredolu’s distinction in both the legal profession, where he rose to the rank of a learned silk, and in governance, where he served as the governor of Ondo State.
“The death of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is a huge and painful loss to the legal profession, the people of Ondo State, Nigeria, and Yorubaland,” Agbaje lamented.
Governor Akeredolu’s commitment to South-West integration was highlighted, particularly his fearless advocacy and pivotal role in establishing the Amotekun Corps, a regional security outfit. Barr Agbaje concluded his tribute by expressing that Nigeria has lost a gem, the South West an illustrious son, and the All Progressives Congress a stalwart member.
“It is my prayer that his soul will find peaceful rest, and Almighty Allah will comfort his family, friends, and associates,” Agbaje concluded in his condolence message, mourning the passing of a leader who left an indelible mark on the legal and political landscape of Nigeria.
