Tragic weekend in Ibadan North Progressive fold as the party lost two respected party executives, Pastor Stephen Orimadegun Adegbola and Pa Olasope Akinola from the constituency 1 part of the local government to the cold hand of death on Saturday, March 15, in Ibadan.

The Chairman of the party, Alhaji Taofeek Ademola Olayiwola, laments the exit of the local government party treasurer, Pastor Orimadegun, alongside another treasurer from Ward 2, Pa Olasope, describing both deaths as “Two Great Blows, Same Time.”

According to the party chairman, “Orimadegun died of a brief illness that lasted 3 days at Adeoyo State Hospital, Ibadan.

“During his lifetime, he was my very good friend, confidant, and a trustworthy personality. He had a track record of probity, transparency, and accountability. He was jovial and a friend of all.

Olayiwola continued,”The deceased was one of the two representatives of Ward 06 in the Local Government Executives of Ibadan North, and he performed excellently well in his contributions to every serious matter affecting the local government. There’s no doubt that the vacuum created by his exit would be very difficult to fill. Just as his ward would miss him, the entire local government executive would miss him more.

“It is my prayer that Almighty God shall grant him eternal rest in the bosom of Jesus Christ, succour his family members and us, his friends, and raise him up to the rank of the Saints”, Olayiwola prayed.

In similar development, this medium reliably gathered that another treasurer of the party in the ward 2 area of the local government, Pa Akinola Olasope (Baba Olasope), passed on at his residence yesterday afternoon.

This was contained in the release made to the public by the Councillorship Candidate of the party in ward 2, Hon. Afeez Bello Mabinuori, shortly after Olasope’s demise. The chairman of the party, Alhaji Olayiwola, was communicated with thereafter.

Pa Olasope died at 86. As a committed party man, he has been in politics since the first republic; his contribution to the party’s progress cannot be underestimated,” Mabinuori emphasised.

“May God admit their souls to the Home of Bliss, Olayiwola submitted.

Olayiwola also prayed for Pa Olasope. “Also, may God repose the soul of our ward treasurer, Pa Olasope, and grant the bereaved fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
