Tribute: I’ve Lost A Mentor, We’ll Miss His Fatherly Roles – ‘Bimbo Adekanmbi Mourns Late Gov Akala.
Former Commissioner for Finance, in Oyo State, ‘Bimbo Adekanmbi has expressed his sadness over the death of former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Alao Akala who was confirmed dead on Wednesday at the age of 71.
Adekanmbi , in a statement personally signed by him, to mourn the ex Governor said his expectation was to get a phone call that Otunba Alao Akala had arrived Ibadan, because he had called ahead earlier in the morning, “but the elder statesman couldn’t made it.
“Late Alao Akala was a Father-figure and mentor. He was very kind to me personally. During his lifetime, he used to advise me personally on several issues and I can’t forget his fatherly advice.
“I expected to meet him in Ibadan this afternoon, I was looking forward to catching up with him on events and on Mama, his Wife’s birthday slated for Saturday, but it’s unfortunate and sad that I didn’t get the phone call that he is in Ibadan for me to see him, but rather the call I received was that, he is no more. It is really sad to hear news of his passing.
Adekanmbi commiserated with Her Excellency, Yeye Oluwakemi Akala, the entire Family, Sons and Daughters of Ogbomoso, people of Oyo State, Oyo State All Progressive Congress(APC), Friends, and Political Associates on the death of Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Adekanmbi urged the bereaved to take heart and pray for the repose of the departed soul of the political veteran.
