Tribute: Oba Adetunji Led Fulfilled, Wonderful Life – OYHA Hopeful, Dr Adebayo Adams Mourns Late Olubadan.

The renowned Agrotech Expert and Oyo-State House of Assembly Hopeful, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), from Ibadan Northwest Constituency, come 2023, Doctor Adebayo Adams has commiserated with all Ibadan descendants, at home and in diasporas, over the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Ajeogunguniso-I, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, who joined his ancestors early yesterday, Sunday at University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.

The Influential Grassroots Mobiliser, Dr Adebayo’s condolence message goes thus,”Late Oba Saliu is undisputed King that his reign brought huge and massive developments to Ibadan land.

I write to commiserate with the family of our Late Father, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogunguniso-I, Olubadan – in – council, Members of Traditional council, CCII, and the greatest of the greatest Sons and daughters of Ibadan Land for the irreparable loss,

The news of Kabiesi transition to joining his ancestor came with rude shock and it is an unexpected one. He left at 93 when his service is much needed, Our Kabiesi is the 41st King to join the league of ‘The Legendary Ibadan Monarchs’ and May God Almighty accept his returns and May Ibadan land continue to flourish.

‘Ojo Nla ni Ojo Yen’, 4th March 2016 when Baba was crowned the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan land and the occasion was so colorful, Ibadan was filled to brim courtesy of Aare Atunluse of Ibadan land, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who gave Staff of Office to Kabiesi. The event was witnessed by people of timber and caliber.

Baba led a fulfilled and wonderful life. He is known to be a great business man, entrepreneur and he used his managerial skills to pave way for musicians like Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde (Mayegun) and many others. Kabiesi discovered many talents and nurtured them. As a King, our socio cultural life was well improved and positively influenced.

Oba Saliu Adetunji is a complete gentleman, father to all, illustrious and industrious son of Ibadan land with mark of humility. May he find peaceful rest with his creator.”
