3 Years On: Sen Abiola Ajimobi: Always Remembered, Always Loved – Prince Akinremi Jagaban

Today marks the 3rd year since the cold hands of death took the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi from among us, the living. Since that fateful day, we have only held on to the memories created with him while he was alive.

Senator Abiola Ajimobi was a great man by all standards. He was an individual who reached his peak professionally and who laid fantastic precedences of governance that remains valuable till date, while he held sway as the Executive Governor of Oyo State.

Large hearted, courageous, pragmatic, lively and warm, he was a man whose view and approach to life was distinct and interesting. He was our leader in the progressive family in Oyo State, having clear thoughts and ideas on the many issues that confronted us.

We miss him everyday, we miss his advice and guidance too. He is always and fondly remembered by many of us who had the privilege to know and interact with him closely. We all still recollect many happy and hilarious moments that we had with him.

I send my warm regards to Dr. Florence Ajimobi for holding the fort of the Ajimobi dynasty for the last 3 years. May God Almighty continue to strengthen you and the entire family, and may the soul of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi continue to rest in peace, amen.
