Tribute: Sen Adesoji Akanbi Mourns Gov Rotimi Akeredolu

Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, deeply affected by the passing of His Excellency, Arakunrin Rotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, has extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of his family to Governor Akeredolu’s immediate family and the people of Ondo State.

Akeredolu, affectionately known as an Ibadan “Egbon,” in Senator Akanbi’s house, is remembered as a man of integrity with an unwavering work ethic.

Sen. Adesoji Akanbi hailed the deceased governor’s straight-forward nature and immense support as a big brother.

“‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The nation mourns the passing of Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, the Executive Governor of Ondo State. The news of his demise, announced from afar in Germany after a prolonged illness, is a heavy blow on Nigerian political circle.

At 67, Akeredolu’s journey included significant milestones such as serving as the President of the Nigeria Bar Association, Attorney-General, and Commissioner of Justice in Ondo State from 1997 to 1999, and ultimately as the Governor of Ondo State from 2017 to 2023. His legacy, marked by a high sense of commitment and responsibility, is destined to withstand the test of time.

Senator Akanbi extended his sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the departed governor’s role as a trusted associate and loyal lieutenant to Mr President.
