TRIBUTE: We Lost Baba When His Wisdom, Counsel Were Most Needed – Yoruba Youths Mourn Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Adeyemi.

It is so sad to loose this top Yoruba Monarch at this crucial period when his wisdom and counseling were most needed. He was naturally supposed to be the royal Host of the proposed Yoruba Presidential Aspirants’ meeting under the All Progressives’ Congress (APC), which is targeted at promoting love and unity before the May 30 Presidential Primary Election.

Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III JP CFR LLD, died at Afe Babalola Teaching Hospital, Ado – Ekiti, Ekiti State, on Friday and his body has arrived Oyo Town early hours of Saturday.

He passed on at the age of 83, having ruled for 52 years. According to tradition, Bashorun of Oyo, Yussuf Akinade, is to be in charge pending the installation of a new Alaafin of Oyo.

This incident is therefore a painful game changer in the Yoruba Political and traditional system.

May his soul rest in peace.
