Tribute: We’ve Lost A Good Father to Us All – Idris Ajimobi Mourns Late Oba Adetunji, Says Monarch’s Demise Is Painful.
Son of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, Mr Idirs Abolaji Abiola-Ajimobi has mourned the demise of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso-I, who joined his forebears early hours of today, Sunday at the University College Hospital, UCH Ibadan.
In his Condolence message, Mr Ajimobi extolled Olubadan’s virtues and described the passage of the Monarch at the age of 93, as painful.
” Just within the spate of one month, Oyo State lost three highly revered Obas to the cold hands of death. This is really shocking and painful. First it was the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagungbade the third, second was the Asigangan of Igangan, Oba Lasisi Olawuyi Adeoyo and now the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
“On behalf of myself and entire Ajimobi family, I commiserate with the good people of Ibadanland, and Oyo State in general. We have lost another highly successful businessman and a good father to us all. My heartfelt sympathies go to the Oyo State traditional Council of Obas and particularly to the Olubadan in Council for this great loss. May God grant our late Royal father eternal rest and may He grant us all fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
Idris Ajimobi extolled Oba Saliu Adetunji’s virtues and described His Majesty as a highly principled and morally upright traditional ruler whose fatherly advice will be missed.
Ajimobi prayed for the repose of the soul of the Olubadan in Al-Jannah Firdaous.
Signed:
Idris Abolaji Abiola-Ajimobi.
