V-Day Parade: Trump accuses China of conspiring with Russia’s Vladimir Putin, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un against America

President Trump said he watched China’s military parade, which marked the 80th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in World War II, calling the display beautiful and very, very impressive.

Trump’s comment comes after he posted on Truth Social accusing China of conspiring with Russia’s Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un against the U.S. as the three leaders attended the military parade.

US President Donald Trump said that he was watching China’s V-Day celebrations, including a military parade, and he thought that it was a beautiful ceremony, which was very impressive, US media reported on Thursday.

When asked by a reporter about the ceremony as well as the gathering of international leaders during the event, Trump said, “When they did what they did, I thought it was a beautiful ceremony. I thought it was very, very impressive. But I understood the reason they were doing it. And they were hoping I was watching. I was watching,” US media reported.

“My relationship with all of them is very good,” Trump said, noting that “we are going to find out how good it is over the next week or two.”

As a grand commemorative meeting started in Beijing’s Tian’anmen Square on Wednesday morning to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, Trump said in a social media post that he hopes the Chinese president and the wonderful Chinese people have a great and lasting day of celebration.

The media reported that in Trump’s post, he also extends his “warmest regards” to Russian and North Korean leaders, as “you conspire against the United States of America.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he considered that Trump’s comments showed he has a sense of humour, according to media reports.

“The US president is not without a sense of humour,” Putin said in Beijing during a press conference on Wednesday. When asked to comment on Trump’s comments, Putin said none of the world leaders who joined the summit in China “expressed negative judgements about the current US administration,” CNN reported.
