Varsity Honours Barr Ademubowale Adelabu, Salutes Ile-Oluji Polytechnic’s Governing Council Chairman’s Efforts on Advocacy for Gender Equality, Women’s Rights

Barrister Ademubowale Adelabu, the esteemed Governing Council Chairman of Federal Polytechnic of Ile-Oluji, received the prestigious Award of Excellence at the recently concluded second edition of the International Conference organised by the Directorate of Gender and Sustainable Development Studies at Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo State.

The three-day event, held from June 23rd to 26th at the Prof. Grace Obongawa Lecture Theatre, centred on the theme “Synergising Diverse Gender Capacity In Today’s World: Charting a Course for Sustainable Global Balance.” The conference attracted scholars, policymakers, and gender advocates committed to fostering gender equality and sustainable development.

In her capacity as the chairman of the opening ceremony, Barr. Adelabu’s presence set an inspiring tone for the event. She also delivered a compelling paper, emphasising the critical need to expand women’s roles in leadership and economic participation, ensure equal access to education and healthcare, and end gender-based violence.

The award was presented to Barr. Adelabu in recognition of her unwavering advocacy for gender equality, her efforts in promoting women’s rights, and her contributions towards creating equal opportunities for women and girls across Nigeria.
