Was Senator Teslim Folarin’s Ambition Thrown Under The Bus or His Ambition Was A Walking Disaster From The Outset? | By Arogundade Toheeb.

In barely 48 hours, I have seen write-ups for and against the article which was published by the Daily News on Saturday, July 1, 2023 which was titled; “Oyo State election: I was thrown under the bus says Senator Teslim Folarin.”

In as much as I have decided to stay mute on what transpired during the 2023 Gubernatorial Election but if I remain quiet, the spirit of posterity will never leave my door steps. Did Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu actually throw Senator Teslim Folarin under the bus?

Before we start analysing this notion politically we should not forget that the statement “Thrown under the bus” is an idiomatic expression which  literally means to  betray or sacrifice someone for one’s own benefit. Did Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu actually betray or sacrifice Senator Teslim Folarin Gubernatorial Ambition  for his Presidential Ambition or was Senator Folarin Ambition a walking disaster from the outset?

Several events unfolded  before, during and after the 2023 General elections which we can be tagged Pre-electoral, electoral and post-electoral periods.

Meanwhile, during the Pre-electoral period, the event that happened then was not blurred to the blind and was audible to the deaf when Senator Teslim Folarin came with his usual “Grab-it-all Political Tactics”, commonly known as Jagba Politics. He singlehandedly distributed party tickets to his associates and we also heard that he sold some for cash without considering the true progressives within the party.

We should not forget  that Senator Folarin also contested in 2015 under the umbrella of PDP as a political party. Was he thrown under the bus by the PDP political leaders or was it his own political misfortune?

I believe his setbacks started with his Jagba Political Tactics and also his political association with other Presidential aspirants of APC during the party primary election as some groups claimed.

During the Presidential election, Asiwaju’s victory in Oyo State was not negotiable because different Political groups who believe in Asiwaju’s aspiration had done their home work accurately by canvassing votes for Asiwaju. Even the Populace accepted him  fully because they believe he is the son of the soil with excellent leadership and  political records.

Party members only cannot win a Gubernatorial election for a candidate because they made not up to 20% of the electorate. The key voters are Artisans, pensioners, market women and men, civil servants, religious leaders and followers and many more. What is the relationship of Senator Teslim Folarin with the groups mentioned above?

How far did he and his media aides cleared the air about the Sabo Transformer Saga, the believe by the people that    was hoarding palliatives which were meant for his Constituency members that was later carted away by hoodlums and many other propaganda and allegations levelled against him?

But it was all over the news that he had the support of the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, Alhaji Olopoeniyan, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Engr Femi Babalola and many of the PDP big wigs in Oyo State.

With this assertion, was Senator Teslim Folarin’s Ambition thrown under the bus or the ambition was a walking disaster from the outset?
