It is no more a news that the centre piece of Oyo State politics centers on three Senatorial Districts with the main target which is Oyo Central Senatorial District.

The reason is not far fatched as Oyo Central Senatorial District is as big as Bayelsa state in land mass. The senatorial district cut across all the local governments in Oyo town, five (5) local governments in Ibadan and two (2) local governments from Ogbomosho area of the state

As 2023 approaches with various permutations, political dynamics and the internal wangling inside Oyo State APC, the party poised not to have a candidate to present in the coming 2023 general elections.

Following the shenanigans of the primary election that produced Yunus Akintunde, Hon. Bimbo Kolade who is not satisfied with the proceedings has headed to court to challenge Akintunde’s victory and the party hierarchy could still not settle this case between her sons. Same fate lies with other elective positions (House of Representative and State House of Asembly) as majority of aspirants have headed to court to find solace. Quite unfortunate for a party who wants to win in the state come 2023.

It is quite disheartening that the APC leadership in the state and even at the national has failed to call or reach out to those who lost out in the May 28th, 2022 primaries of the party for a united front.

Will APC have a candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District?

What may even be the outcome of the court case(s)?

What have been the step by the national body of the APC in settling this internal crises?

Is Asiwaju Tinubu satisfied with this disastrous happenings?

These and many other questions may be answered after the substantive hearing on the suit commences 11th of August 2023.
