World Literacy Month : Rotary Club Of Ibadan Oritamefa Pays NECO Fees Of Indigent, Brilliant Students .

Rotary Clubs of Ibadan – Oritamefa, District 9125, Nigeria. Today in marking World Literacy month September Donated the sum of #170,000 to clear NECO examination levy of 13 Anglican Grammar School Oritamefa Ibadan students.
According to Rotn Dr Jane Adebusuyi, the district chairman for basic education and literacy district 9125 stated that they have many core areas in Rotary and basic education and literacy is one of the areas they usually regard because they believe education is the basic key to national development.
She said, “September is the month designated by Rotary international for basic education and literacy, in lieu of this, we have decided to embark on the projects to mark the month of September. We have observed that many students are very brilliant but because they come from economically challenged homes, they are unable to step forward in their educational endeavours and we don’t want their future to be truncated because of their family backgrounds. We believe they are the future generation that will lift Nigeria up, that’s why Rotary is determined to help those children who are financially challenged and that’s why we decided to sponsors their exam fees to be able to participate in the forthcoming exam, because it will be so sad if a brilliant students is not able to seat for an exam just because of financial challenges.
She said Rotary is noted for service to humanity; “What we enjoy doing in Rotary is touching the life of people in the community and that’s main reason we are here”, she maintained .
