“MY MESSAGE TO TEACHERS ON 2022 WORLD TEACHER’S DAY!
Dear Teachers in Oyo State,
World Teachers’ Day is officially recognized today, 5 October, not only to celebrate you, but also to spotlight your concerns, and the current issues related to education.
To start with, I want to specially applaud all hardworking teachers in Oyo State on this historic day set aside to specifically highlight you as our most vital contingent of nationbuilders. Your labour of love, and heritage of sacrifice cannot be underestimated. You truly deserve this day!
Indeed, I’m solemnly appreciative of all that you do to realize our children’s right to quality education and to prepare them for a better future. I cannot thank you enough for your immeasurable hardwork and sacrifices, despite operating in extremely inconducive teaching and learning environments.
This year’s theme: “The Transformation Of Education Begins With Teachers,” is well captured in my 2023 Rescue Blueprint for the state’s education sector, which emphasises the importance of training and re-training teachers to meet contemporary challenges of today’s ever-evolving world.
In fact, the teacher’s competence is one of my priorities, for I’m cognizant of the fact that trained and qualified teachers are fundamental to the transformation of a vibrant and qualitative education sector which I envisage for our dear state.
The comatose state of the education sector under the present administration is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. Hence, the need for a Rescue Mission to restore, reposition and reinvigorate the sector for immediate transformation. Our administration shall effectively use education and technology to develop Oyo State, Godwilling.
Since good teachers are the reasons ordinary students dream to do extraordinary things, I urge you not to despair despite the deprivations you face under the current government. I know for a fact that your worries will soon be over.
As I pray for good health and God’s gracious goodness to you all on the occasion of this momentous day, I wish you all a happy World Teacher’s Day. Thank you.
