Yoruba Nation: I Strongly Believe in One Nigeria – Olowu Kuta Says As He Receives SFYY Leadership
A Renown Socio-Cultural Youth Group, Supreme Forum of Yoruba Youths(SFYY) has paid courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, the Olowu of Kuta Land at his palace in Owu-kuta town, Osun State.
“I strongly believe in one Nigeria”, Olowu Kuta reiterated as He received SFYY in His palace. The monarch welcomed the youth group with open arms and declared his love and total supports for the Forum as apex Yoruba youth group.
In his word, he said that, “I welcome you all to Owu-kuta, I am happy to see you all, and I would like to tell you all that I love the objectives of this association . In fact , your President is highly cultured as a result of this , I am pledging my support to all your activities.
Oba Makama also showed his displeasures over the current issues of individuals calling for secession in the country without even following due process, thereby heating poolity in Yoruba Land.
The monarch stated that he has always and would ever believe in one Nigeria but hinted that restructuring is inevitable, considering the present situation of the country.
He noted that the agitators should have faced issue of securing Yoruba land against the bandits and they would have been supported.
“I believe in one Nigeria, I do not believe or support secession, we might likely suffer thereafter because we have some forms of division within. If these so called individuals have continued with the securing Yoruba against bandits, they might have gotten supports”
“Restructuring might be our solution in such that local government is given the autonomy as that is where development should start from. All of our issues such as worsening security can be solved through local government autonomy. Quite unfortunate, the politicians have failed to uphold local government autonomy”, the monarch lamented.
Oba Makama charged SFYY to uphold the Omoluabi virtues which Yorubas are known for and He encouraged everyone who believes in one Nigeria to stand strong and remain persistent in the face of oppression.
In his remarks, The SFYY National President, Otunba Femi Awogboro appreciated Olowu of kuta for his relentless support to the Yoruba race .
Awogboro also thanked the Monarch’s Queen, Royal Family, the Chiefts of Owu-Kuta as well as the DPO and security operatives for their supports to the royal father.
