Yoruba Nation : Omo Oduduwa Ko’ya Movement Appoints Oyewole Oyegoke As Secretary
The leadership of Omo Oduduwa Ko’ya Movement(OOKM) , a social – cultural and human rights organisation established for promotion and defense of both economic and political self reliance and independence of Yoruba nation through non- violent means , has appointed Barr. Oyewole Oyegoke Solomon as secretary of the movement .
This is contained in the appointment letter signed by OOKM Convener/President , Mogaji Chris Fawole and National Chairman, Chief Adekunle Aribikolasi . The letter which was dated June 11, 2020 and addressed to Barr. Oyewole Oyegoke Solomon .
“The movement is to liaise , cooperate , join , and or affiliate where necessary, with any other association or groups with similar ideology, mission, vision and or objectives with Omo Oduduwa Ko’ya Movement with sole aims of seeking realisation of economic and political independence of Yoruba Nation and also empowerment of women and youths of Yoruba citizens through agricultural and entrepreneurship trainings”, the appointment letter indicated .
The key advocacies of the movement are to encourage the development of agriculture among Yoruba youths and women through promotion of agricultural programs such as ‘OOKM Foods’ and ‘ Back to Farm’ Programs and to facilitate economic, political and technological development and poverty eradication among Yoruba citizens through research, public lectures, seminars and workshops for the promotion of qualitative education and impartation of vocational skills to the unemployed youths .
“Now, Having realized that we may not be able to achieve much without supports of individuals like you, we use this opportunity to seek for your cooperation towards uplifting our people out of economic, social and political obscurity”, the letter further stated .
