Yuletide: Aleshinloye Preaches Love, Unity, Peaceful Co-existence among Nigerians

As Christians in Nigeria join other faithful across the world to celebrate Christmas today, the former Chairman, Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State Chapter, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, MDII, has called on Christians and people generally to reflect on the lessons of the birth of Jesus Christ in this festive period.

In a statement signed, Prince Aleshinloye urged Christians to pray for peace, love, and unity in the country and total reconciliation with God and man as they enter the new year.

The ex-council boss, Aleshinloye, also noted that the best way to celebrate Christ is to show love and to give like Christ did.

“The birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas should be used to reconcile ourselves with God, promote peace, show love, and unity, including the display of the spirit of tolerance in the accomplishment of our vision of building a better state and country. I wish to admonish all Christians to emulate Jesus Christ in words and deeds and imbibe the core lessons of freedom, love, tolerance, sacrifice, generosity, and peaceful co-existence, which Christ stood for.”

Aleshinloye also called on Christian leaders to continue to pray for the country and leaders across the country as the Holy Bible enjoined so as to ensure that the country is always on the right path.

Aleshinloye urged Nigerians to unite, pray for peace and coexistence, and eschew bitterness and hatred on the basis of faith, ethnicity, or political leanings.

The Mayegun-in-General Oluyole, Aleshinloye, wished Oyo state citizens and indeed all Nigerians a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year and prayed for the warmth of God’s love to fill every heart and home.
