Yuletide: Oyo APC Chairmanship Standardbearer, Hon Sunmonu Celebrates with Christians, Greets Nigerians
Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kajola Local Government, in the forthcoming 2024 local council election in the state, Hon. Waliu Kola Sunmonu, has felicitated Christians in his local government and across the state as they join other faithful around the world to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ.
The grassroots politician and Oyo APC Chieftain, Sunmonu, congratulated the Christian faithful in the state and Nigeria on the occasion of the 2023 Christmas celebrations.
Sunmonu urged all citizens to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues of the Lord Jesus Christ by showing love and understanding for fellow citizens while exhibiting patience, honesty, sincerity, kindness, and generosity in all their undertakings. “The commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ is an important opportunity for us to show love to one another and encourage unity by spending quality time with our friends, families, and the less privileged.
“It is also an occasion to draw inspiration from the exemplary lifestyle and teachings of Jesus Christ, who constantly stands for what is right, true, and honest.” He stated.
As we celebrate this Yuletide season, let us devote some time to pray and appreciate the sacrifices of members of our armed services to keep our nation safe and secure.
Sunmonu urged Nigerians to be optimistic and work towards the greatness and peaceful coexistence of the country. He opined that the country is not where it was yesterday and that, with our consistent efforts and prayers, it will get to where it ought to be soon.
“Jesus’ life exemplifies commitment and humility. He lives his life to seek peace and promote godliness, the same way we should not just be talking about morality but do what we say for others to emulate.
“Let us not be carried away with the positive mood of the season, but use this holiday and celebration period to pray and seek the progress of the communities and country.
He, however, wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance, with peace, happiness, contentment, good health, and prosperity to all.
