Just-In: Hon Bimbo Kolade’s Mother Passes Away on Her 87th Birthday

In a bittersweet twist of fate, the family of Honourable Bimbo Kolade, a distinguished Federal Commissioner with the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, is in mourning as they bid farewell to their beloved matriarch, Mama Deaconess Modupeola Aduke Kolade. Mama Kolade, who celebrated her 87th birthday today, the 28th of March 2024, peacefully passed away on this very day she marked another year of life.

Born in Osogbo on the same date in 1937, Mama Kolade dedicated her life to service and education. 

Having served as an esteemed headmistress, she later took up pivotal roles in public service, notably as the vice chairman and supervisory councillor for Agriculture, Education, Women Affairs, and Social Works in the old Osogbo local government. Her commitment to community development and empowerment was evident throughout her tenure.

Furthermore, Mama Kolade’s influence extended beyond administrative roles. She served as a director of the Women’s Missionary Union of the Osun Baptist Conference, embodying her deeply rooted faith and dedication to uplifting others.

Her passing, after a brief illness, leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the communities she touched. Mama Kolade is survived by numerous children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a testament to the legacy she leaves behind.

In a statement released by Sola Oyelere, Special Assistant to the Federal Commissioner, RMAFC, the family expressed gratitude to God Almighty for Mama Kolade’s life and the impact she made during her time on earth.

As the Hon. Bimbo Kolade and his family navigate this period of mourning, they are upheld by the memories of a remarkable mother whose life was a beacon of love, service, and unwavering faith.
