Peaceful and genuine intentions in relationships among humans are critical to the practice of our faiths, irrespective of our religions, especially in Islam and Christianity.

Senator Yunus Akintunde admonished both Muslims and Christians in his message to constituent adherents of both faiths while distributing gifts to the various local governments within the Oyo Central Senatorial District.

In a statement released by Kunle Olatunji, his Media and Publicity Assistant, made available to the press after his recent visit to Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa local governments, Senator Yunus Akintunde also met with critical stakeholders during a crucial meeting where he successfully reconciled the various factions of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Surulere and Ogo-Oluwa local government areas.

He emphasised the need to ensure a peaceful disposition with hearts of kindness and love towards one another as part of the conditions for human existence, achievements of personal and collective interests, as well as national growth and development in all ramifications.

Several gifts ranging from food items like rice, semolina, and cash were sent by Dr. Yunus Akintunde to be distributed to the critical stakeholders, religious leaders, and constituents who are observing the Ramadan and Lent fasting periods, which coincidentally are within the same period of the year.

Senator Yunus Akintunde also used the opportunity to assure Nigerians that the nation is actually on the path of progress.

“No doubt things are still not perfectly in shape with the economy and security as desired, but we have made tremendous progress compared to what we used to experience in the previous years.”

“The various efforts of the current leadership  of the country are already yielding positive results, which are evident within the system.”

“Gradually, our external reserve is improving, our currency, the Naira, is gaining value slowly but steadily, silent and continuous decimation of criminals engaged in insecurity challenges of kidnapping, robbery, communal clashes, and attacks is ongoing, and we are winning the war. The critical problems of inflation and the food crisis will soon be things of the past with the various measures the government and administration have already been implementing since inception, especially as regards the 2024 budget design and implementation.”

“I had the privilege to join the leadership of the Senate led by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at a special Iftah session with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, where he expressed his absolute commitment to the repositioning agenda of this administration and also enjoined Nigerians to collectively resolve and engage in positive inclinations and attitudes towards repositioning the nation.”

“As a people, we must always be positively impactful and eschew negativism. It is important to objectively identify possibilities within the system and take advantage of the benefits offered within the contents of the economic programmes and action plans of the appropriation document referred to as the national budget.”

“It is not a coincidence that this year’s Muslim Ramadan and Christian Lent fasting periods fall within the same time this year. I strongly believe that our collective prayers in this special month will allow us to seek divine benevolence and guidance, peace, and tranquility within our various communities towards ensuring that we sustain rapid economic growth and development in our nation,” he concluded.
