2027: As consensus candidacy fails in Oluyole State Constituency, Hon Oke-Are Aina sets to obtain nomination, expression of interest forms Monday

Following extensive consultation, brainstorming, and prayers, Honourable Oke-Are Roseline Aina has announced her decision to take the nomination and expression of interest forms on Monday into her own hands after what she described as a lack of official communication from party structures.

In a statement released regarding the Oluyole State Constituency, Hon. Oke-Are said she had honoured the party leadership for more than 90 hours after a 10-man screening committee was set up to assess aspirants for the 2027 House of Assembly election.

However, she noted that nothing was communicated to her officially, even as other aspirants reportedly moved ahead to purchase forms—one of them, she said, even went as far as taking pictures with the Oyo State APC chairman, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo.

According to her, that action convinced her that the hoped-for consensus arrangement had failed.

As early hinted, Hon. Oke-Are declared that she will begin the next stage of her ambition by collecting her nomination and expression of interest forms on Monday.

Oke-Are emphasised that her action is not intended to undermine party leadership or act against the party, but rather to ensure she does not “allow the open window to pass.

Despite her concerns, Oke-Are reaffirmed her loyalty and commitment to the unity of the APC, stating that she remains a committed party person who wants the opportunity to serve the people.

Good morning, my great beloved brothers and sisters.

After so much consultation, brainstorming, and prayer, I have taken the bull by the horns.

By His grace, I am collecting the nomination and expression of interest forms on Monday.

After honouring the party leadership for over 90 hours after the 10-man committee was established by the party to screen all aspirants for the 2027 general election for the House of Assembly, nothing was communicated to us officially. Please note, officially,

With the turn of events, several other aspirants have gone ahead to purchase the forms, and one even took pictures with the Oyo State party chairman. This singular gesture proved to me that the consensus arrangement has failed.

Dear party leaders and compatriots, I strongly believe my action was not to go against the party leadership, but I can’t let the open window pass me by.

I am a very committed party person; I love the party and the leadership. All I seek is an opportunity to serve my people.

I remain committed to the unity of the party APC in the local government, the state and the national level.

Thank you.

Signed:

Hon Mrs Oke-Aree Roseline Aina,
3rd of May 2027.
