My dear people of Ibadan Southeast Constituency-I, I greet you with respect from my heart. As we enter the 2027 election season, I want to speak to you directly—because this seat is not something we should treat with jokes. It is a serious call to represent the masses, understand our challenges, and bring meaningful development close to the people.

Let me thank you for the love you have continued to show me. I have heard your voices. I have seen your support. And I want to assure you today: As you have chosen me as the APC standardbearer for Ibadan Southeast Constituency-I come 2027—and I’m grateful for the privilege to serve and I promise to serve you meritoriously.

I’m one of you—an Ibadan son, raised with discipline
I am your son, Hon. Wasiu Hamzat Olanrewaju (WHO), and I’m proud to be a full blooded Ibadan descendant from the respected Hamzat family in Ibadan Southeast Local Government Area of Oyo State.

My upbringing taught me discipline, respect, and responsibility. My education also gave me the solid foundation that a leader must have character, good reasoning, and the readiness to serve society. I didn’t grow up believing leadership is about talk. I grew up knowing leadership is about results.

Business strength, but service is the mission
Some people may say: “Yes, he’s educated. Yes, he’s doing business.” But what really matters is this: I have used business strength for the benefit of my people.

As a realtor and business-minded person based in Ibadan, I understand value creation, not just for myself, but for the community. That is why you will always find that I don’t look down on the people. I see problems and I move to support where help is needed most especially in areas that directly affect families:

•human capital development
•youth empowerment
•and support for vulnerable groups who need a listening leader, not a leader who disappears after elections.

Philanthropy you can verify, not promises you can’t trust
My people, you know I am not the type that gives help only on camera. You have witnessed it. You have seen it.

You have described me as a young philanthropist, and I say thank you for recognising the work. Over time, support has reached youth, the aged, orphans, women and girls, and other disadvantaged persons. And to the beneficiaries and community voices who have continued to testify, I say,”I hear you. I appreciate you. And I will not rest.

What some people call “small assistance,” we know it changes lives because it helps with everyday needs in health, welfare, and education. It gives people breathing space, and it helps our people look forward to tomorrow.

You also remember community-based contributions like solar-powered street lights, educational support, and other targeted projects that improve safety and strengthen learning opportunities.

Beyond money: development that builds the people
Let me be clear to you today: my commitment is not limited to material help alone.

I promote community awareness, resilience, and the ideas that strengthen environmental health and community well-being. Because real development is not only one project, real development is also:
•enlightenment
•empowerment
•and long-term capacity building

That is the kind of leadership I stand for.
