Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, influential gubernatorial aspirant Barrister Dawud Abayomi Sulayman ‘ABESE’ has paid a courtesy visit to the newly inaugurated leadership of the Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The visit took place on Monday, April 13, at the APC Party Permanent Secretariat, Oke-Ado in Ibadan, where Abese and members of his campaign team engaged extensively with party executives on the vision guiding his ambition. He emphasised that his bid is rooted in service to the party and the people of Oyo State.

While welcoming Barr. Sulayman, Hon. Olawale Sadare, Oyo APC publicity secretary, described the gubernatorial aspirant and his supporters as seasoned stakeholders whose contributions have strengthened the party’s progress.

“Our party is blessed with resourceful and highly experienced aspirants—people who stand out even among strong contenders. This reflects that our party has good fortune,” Sadare stated.
Chief Ademola Olawale (AGBA-DEMO), former council vice chairman to Barr. Sulayman and Coordinator G-68 (erstwhile council vice chairmen in Oyo State), expressed satisfaction over the warm reception accorded Barr. Sulayman and his team, affirming that the aspirant is a “round peg in a round hole”.
Agba-Demo saluted the Chief Alake-Adeyemo-led executives’ zeal to reclaim the Oyo State for the progressive party and urged them to sustain the momentum needed for victory.
Earlier, APC State Chairman Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, Ph.D., commended Barr. Sulayman for his commitment to advancing the party and his record of service. He highlighted the aspirant’s engagement across law, civil service, and public service, describing him as a statesman who has remained deeply devoted to strengthening the progressive political family in the state.
Responding, Barr. Sulayman Abese congratulated the newly constituted State Working Council under the watch of Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo while felicitating the chairman on his recent attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Ibadan (UI).
Sulayman also commended the Hon. Sadare for his professionalism and the role it has played in reinforcing the party’s drive toward victory.
Barr. Sulayman outlined his achievements across both private and public sectors, presenting them as evidence of his readiness to serve. He stated that his performance and experience position him as a credible option under the ‘Progressives platform’ for the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
Barr. Sulayman formally declared his ambition for the governorship seat to party leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to APC ideals and internal order.
Also, Sulayman presented his gubernatorial blueprint to the chairman, stating that it will serve as a useful framework for the party leadership and, ultimately, for whichever aspirant the party selects. He assured that he will fully respect party supremacy, expressing confidence that the process will culminate in him securing the APC gubernatorial ticket and victory in 2027.
