As preparations intensify for the 2027 gubernatorial contest in Oyo State, Honourable Sakiru Kayode Fagunwa, a former council chairman and influential APC chieftain, has canvassed full support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli and his running mate, Honourable Adesoji Adedeji (SOJ).

Hon. Fagunwa’s backing is presented not as a one-person endorsement, but as part of a wider movement to rally forces across party tendencies and secure unity ahead of the election.

Fagunwa enthused that Alli/Adedeji’s pro-people credentials and reconciliation drive within the Oyo APC have created the conditions for victory. He commended party leadership for efforts aimed at settling differences among APC tendencies, framing the ongoing efforts on internal unity as both a political asset and a sign that the party is ready to move forward together.

Fagunwa maintained that Senator Alli’s emergence supported by a reconciled party and strengthened by his running mate, Adesoji Adedeji’s youthful energy, will bring an end to what he calls bad governance in Oyo State.

“New dawn has come”, Fagunwa assured voters whom he said are tired of political promises and want visible improvement.
