23 Schools to Undergo Renovation as Senator Akintunde Facilitates Road Projects Across Oyo Central

No fewer than 23 schools across the 11 local government areas of Oyo Central Senatorial District are set to undergo renovation as part of a fresh infrastructure intervention facilitated by the Senator representing the district, Yunus Abiodun Akintunde Phd.
The renovation works are scheduled to commence on Monday, September 7, 2026, with two schools selected in each of the 11 local government areas. An additional special school in Atiba Local Government Area brings the total number of beneficiary schools to 23.

The intervention covers primary and secondary schools across Afijio, Akinyele, Atiba, Egbeda, Lagelu, Ogo-Oluwa, Oluyole, Ona-Ara, Oyo East, Oyo West and Surulere local government areas.
Among the schools listed for the renovation are Ilora Muslim Grammar School and Imini Community Grammar School in Afijio; Ajibode Grammar School and Community Grammar School, Ikereku, in Akinyele; Commercial Grammar School, Oke Oroki, and L.A. School, Sabo, in Atiba; as well as Idito High School, Erunmu, and SDA Owobaale Primary School in Egbeda.

Other beneficiary schools include Community Grammar School, Ejioku Lagelu, and SS Peter Primary School, Offa, in Lagelu; Baptist Basic School, Ayegun Yemetu, and Community High School, Otamokun, in Ogo-Oluwa; Pegba Community Primary School and Aiyegun Community Primary School in Oluyole; and Aho Parapo Community Secondary School, Amuloko, and Community Grammar School, Araromi Aperin, in Ona-Ara.
In Oyo East, Oba Adeyemi High School, Oyo, and Abiodun Atiba Memorial Institute, Kosobo, are beneficiaries, while L.A. Town School, Idi-Ope, and Ifedapo Community Primary School, Opapa, are listed in Oyo West.
Surulere Local Government Area will benefit from the renovation of Alayin Community High School and Community High School, Iresa-Apa.
The intervention also includes St. Andrews College Demonstration School, Oke-Ebo, Oyo, a special school in Atiba Local Government Area.
The senator said the education intervention is aimed at improving the condition of school facilities and providing more conducive environments for teaching and learning across communities in Oyo Central.
Meanwhile, contractors handling two road projects facilitated by Senator Akintunde have resumed work at their respective sites.
The projects are the Ayegun–Oleyo Road and the Ojongbodu Police Station–Oyo London Road.
Construction activities on the roads are expected to commence immediately following the contractors’ return to site.
The projects are expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation and support economic activities across communities within Oyo Central.
The latest interventions bring education and road infrastructure into focus as part of his ongoing efforts to address basic infrastructure needs across the senatorial district.
Senator Akintunde, who reaffirmed his commitment to constituency development, said more interventions would be coming to Oyo Central.
“Oyo Central is working. More is coming,” Akintunde assured.
