Arewa Think Tank backs Sunday Dare, expresses confidence in Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid

The Arewa Think Tank has thrown its weight behind the position of the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, expressing confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance in office will secure his re-election in 2027, The Nation Newspapers reported.

During an appearance on the Mic On Podcast, Sunday Dare stated that the Tinubu administration was not threatened by Peter Obi’s political influence, insisting that the government stands on the strength of its performance over the past three years.

The Convener of the Arewa Think Tank, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, said the group aligns with Dare’s assertion that the administration’s achievements, rather than political rhetoric, will determine the outcome of the next presidential election.

Yakubu noted that President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated a commitment to addressing Nigeria’s economic and governance challenges through bold reforms and strategic policy initiatives, which he said are already yielding positive results across critical sectors.

He said the President’s growing record of performance has continued to strengthen public confidence and provides a solid foundation for a successful re-election campaign.

The Arewa Think Tank Convener also agreed with Sunday Dare’s position that Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, no longer poses the political threat he once did, arguing that governance and tangible results have shifted the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.

According to Yakubu, the administration has remained focused on implementing reforms despite initial challenges, insisting that Nigerians will ultimately judge the government based on its achievements.

Yakubu further expressed confidence that President Tinubu would reclaim Lagos State in the 2027 presidential election, maintaining that the political dynamics that produced the 2023 outcome have changed significantly.

Yakubu urged Nigerians to continue supporting the administration’s reform agenda, emphasising that sustained implementation of ongoing policies would deliver greater economic stability, improved infrastructure, enhanced security, and broader national development before the next general elections.

Dare maintained that the administration has confronted Nigeria’s challenges through decisive policy actions and has a verifiable scorecard to present to Nigerians, expressing confidence that President Tinubu will emerge stronger in the 2027 presidential election, including reclaiming Lagos State.
