Birthday: Senator Alli celebrates Alaafin Owoade, Hails Royal Leadership
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli, has congratulated the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, on the occasion of his birthday.
This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Friday in Ibadan.
Senator Alli described the revered traditional ruler as a symbol of Yoruba pride, wisdom and cultural renaissance.
Oba Owoade was born on July 17, 1975, and ascended the throne as the 46th Alaafin in 2025.
The APC candidate extolled Alaafin’s exemplary leadership, humility and commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Oyo Kingdom and the Yoruba race.
He said that since ascending the revered throne of his forebears, the Alaafin had continued to demonstrate uncommon grace, dignity and a deep sense of responsibility in promoting peace, unity and development across Oyo Kingdom.
Senator Alli described Oba Owoade as a worthy custodian of the enduring legacies of the ancient Oyo Empire, expressing confidence that his reign would usher in greater prosperity, stability and cultural rebirth.
He noted that the traditional ruler’s fatherly disposition, wisdom and inclusive leadership had continued to inspire confidence among traditional institutions, government and the people.
Alli said that Alaafin’s commitment to strengthening Yoruba values, promoting communal harmony and supporting initiatives that advance the socio-economic development of the state deserved commendation.
The APC governorship candidate prayed that Almighty God would grant the Alaafin many more years in good health, sound wisdom and divine strength to continue providing purposeful leadership for the Oyo Kingdom and the Yoruba nation.
