BSA Voice of Reason Media Coordinator, Oluokun Urges Oyo APC Faithful to Unite Behind Senator Alli Ahead of 2027 Governorship Race
An opinion writer and APC stakeholder, Elder David Oluokun, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to close ranks and rally behind Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as the party prepares for the 2027 governorship election.
In a statement titled,”The Time to Unite Is Now: Why Oyo APC Must Rally Behind Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (BSA) to Retake Agodi in 2027,” Oluokun argued that the APC had spent more than seven years in opposition and should present a united front to reclaim power in the state.
Oluokun maintained that internal divisions within the party could undermine its chances of defeating the ruling administration, urging aggrieved members to put aside their grievances in the interest of the party.
“The time has come for all APC leaders, stakeholders, youths, women and members to unite behind one candidate. Seven years in opposition is enough, and Oyo cannot afford another mistake,” he said.
The writer described Senator Alli as an experienced politician, citing his previous roles in the Oyo State Government and his current position representing Oyo South Senatorial District. He added that the senator had remained loyal to the APC despite the party being in opposition and had maintained grassroots engagement through empowerment initiatives.
Oluokun also alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde was backing the governorship ambition of Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), claiming that a divided APC would strengthen the ruling camp’s chances in the next election.
Oluokun appealed to party members who felt dissatisfied with previous political processes to set aside their differences, insisting that unity remained the APC’s strongest weapon ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to him, the APC’s nationwide structure, presence across Oyo State’s 33 local government areas and alignment with the Federal Government positioned the party to mount a formidable challenge if it remained united.
Oluokun urged party faithful to “close ranks” and work collectively towards reclaiming the Oyo State Government House, popularly known as Agodi Government House, in 2027.
