“Facts Speak Louder Than Propaganda”: Why Hon Tolulope Akande-Sadipe Deserves A Third Term in Oluyole Federal Constituency

Here are the people’s responses to “Sadipe Must Go Propaganda”

In a democracy, slogans are easy, but good leadership is uncommon. The recent chant of “Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe Must Go. No to third term in Oluyole” following the May 16 Primary Election deserves a factual response, not just emotions. Because Oluyole deserves leadership measured by results, not by rhetoric.

Let’s look into the “Obinrin Takun Takun”, Amazon’s good record/legislative scorecards:

First, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Member Representing Oluyole Federal Constituency in the National Assembly symbolises quality and pro-people representation that delivered, not just promised. She has spent 7 years turning constituency office into a service center.

Here are parts of Hon. Sadipe’s key legislative and constituency footprints:

•Legislation and Oversight: As Chairman, House Committee on Diaspora, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe championed bills and motions that protect Nigerians abroad and attract remittances home. She has moved over 20 motions and sponsored/co-sponsored multiple bills focused on women, youth, SMEs and social welfare.

•Education: Hundreds of Oluyole students have benefited from scholarships, JAMB forms, and educational materials. Building, renovating and equipping of schools across wards in Oluyole remain part of Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe’s frequent interventions.

•Healthcare: Free medical outreaches, provision of hospital equipment, and health insurance support for vulnerable families. During COVID-19, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe’s led palliatives and sensitization across all 12 wards of the federal constituency.

Economic Empowerment: Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe has empowered thousands of women and youth, who are trained in vocational skills, fashion, agriculture, ICT among others. Start-up grants, tricycles, deep freezers, grinding machines, other items and market support given directly to beneficiaries to fight poverty at the grassroots, and become self reliant and empowered.

•Infrastructure and Facilitation: Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe facilitated road construction , rood repairs, solar streetlights, boreholes,  transformers and other social amenities across communities in Oluyole. While federal constituency allocation is limited, she has consistently leveraged partnerships to bring projects home.

Back to the critics’ propaganda who are saying”No to Third Term”. Dear good people of Oluyole Federal Constituency! Ignore the traducers as their propaganda ignores constitutional right and voter choice, and also undermines quality and inclusive representation which Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe is delivering.

Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution does not place a limit on how many terms a House of Representatives member can serve. The limit is performance. The May 16 Primary was an internal party process, and Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe won landslide with popular support of the the party members and leadership. So, to claim “we have voted her out” erases the popular choice and thousands of APC members in Oluyole who still believe in continuity, experience, and institutional knowledge in Abuja.

A third term is not an entitlement. It is earned. And in legislative work, experience in committees, relationships with MDAs, and understanding of the budget process are what translate to more projects for Oluyole. Starting over every 4 years means starting over on negotiations.

As we all know, the alternative to experience is experiment. So, no time to check time as Oluyole Federal Constituency deserves enhanced quality representation and another level of progress more than ever before. Yes, propaganda thrives on anger but governance, particularly, representation thrives on access.  Oluyole is at a critical point; industrial growth in Idi-Osan, expansion in Podo, youth unemployment, and small businesses needing federal support. We need a representative who already has a seat at the table in Abuja, not someone learning the ropes.

Hon. Sadipe’s gender also matters. As one of the few female voices from Oyo State at the National Assembly, she has consistently pushed for laws and interventions that protect women, girls, and families, a perspective Oluyole cannot afford to lose.

Let’s even address the criticism directly. No one is impeccable. No one is infallible except Almighty God. As a person and lawmaker, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe stands out; and she is excellent and performing wonderfully. So, let’s give her her own flowers! More wins Warrior-Queen.

Definitely, no representative is perfect. But the answer to perceived gaps is engagement and more delivery, not erasure. The same constituents protesting today are the same people whose children got scholarships, whose mothers got medical support, and whose wards got lights and water through Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe’s office in the last 7 years.

Leadership is a contract. If the people of Oluyole feel that contract has been broken, the ballot in the general election is the right place to decide. Not slogans. Not social media campaigns. Meanwhile, the critics fear this option because they know that Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe remains popular among the masses and her landslide victory at the poll, come next year general elections is assured by people of the federal constituency.

Before we go, let performance, not propaganda, decide. “Sadipe Must Go” is an anti-people slogan while “Sadipe Must Stay” is pro-people mantra, and objectively it must be based on one question:”Has Oluyole moved forward in the last 7 years? The boreholes, the empowered widows, the trained youth, the bills, the presence in Abuja, the 24/7 constituency office and pro-people relentless efforts say yes. So,”Ride On Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe”.

Oluyole deserves continuity of effective representation. Oluyole deserves a voice that is already heard. Oluyole deserves Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe for a third term to finish what she started.

The power is still with the people of Oluyole Federal Constituency. Let us vote with facts, not fury.

2027: Think Oluyole Federal Constituency! Think Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe ! Think Electoral Victory and Continuity of Quality, Inclusive and Particatory Representation.
