FCC Boss, Aleshinloye Pays Tribute to Oloye Lekan Alabi, Describes Late Veteran Journalist as Cultural Icon of All Times
Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, MDII, Commissioner representing Oyo State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Oloye Lekan Alabi, the veteran journalist, former Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to four Oyo State governors, and an outstanding icon of Yoruba culture and heritage.
In his condolence message issued through his media office, Prince Aleshinloye said, Oloye Lekan Alabi was not only a seasoned journalist and an accomplished public relations practitioner; he was a living encyclopedia of Yoruba culture and Ibadan history. His humility, intellect, and passion for our cultural heritage made him an irreplaceable icon.
The FCC Commissioner noted that the late Alabi’s contributions to journalism, governance, cultural promotion, and public enlightenment would continue to inspire future generations. He added that his appearance, conduct, and dedication to traditional values reflected his uncommon love for the Yoruba heritage and the advancement of Ibadanland.
Aleshinloye extended his heartfelt condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Ibadanland, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and all associates of the late cultural icon.
Aleshinloye prayed that Almighty Allah forgive Oloye Lekan Alabi’s shortcomings, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
