‎Former Oyo Head of Service, Ogunesan, Decries Killings, Abduction in Ogbomosho Schools, Calls for Urgent Security Action

‎Former Head of Service in Oyo State, Chief (Mrs.) Hannah Ogunesan, has expressed deep sorrow and condemnation over the recent abduction and killing of students and staff members at Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School in the Esiele area of Oriire Local Government in the Ogbomosho zone of Oyo State.

‎In an emotional reaction to the tragic incident, Ogunesan described the development as heartbreaking, painful, and unacceptable in a peaceful community known for nurturing future leaders through education.

‎Ogunesan condoled with the family, colleagues, and loved ones of the teacher reportedly killed during the attack by kidnappers, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

‎Speaking as a leader who rose through the educational and civil service system to become the Head of Service in Oyo State, Mrs. Ogunesan said the incident touched her deeply because she understands the struggles, sacrifices, and commitment of teachers and school administrators who dedicate their lives to shaping society.

‎According to Ogunesan, “This sad incident is not just an attack on innocent students and teachers, but a direct assault on the future of our community and the peace of our dear state. Having served within the educational and public service system for decades, I understand the emotional trauma and fear this unfortunate development has created among parents, teachers, and school children.”

‎Ogunesan lamented the growing insecurity affecting rural communities and educational institutions, stressing that schools should remain safe environments for learning and moral development, not places of fear and bloodshed.

‎Ogunesan further called on the Oyo State Government and all security agencies to urgently strengthen security architecture across vulnerable communities, particularly around schools in rural areas of Oyo State.

‎Ogunesan urged the government to intensify surveillance, deploy more security personnel, and work closely with local vigilante groups and community leaders to prevent future occurrences.

‎“The safety of our children must never be compromised. Government must act swiftly and decisively to restore confidence among our people and ensure that students can return to their classrooms without fear,” she added.

‎The former Head of Service also appealed to residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and continue to pray for peace and protection across Oyo State.

‎Ogunesan finally prayed for the safe release of those abducted and asked God to comfort every family affected by the unfortunate incident.
