OYHA 2027: Formal Protest Lodged Against Alleged Imposition of APC Candidate in Ibadan Northwest

STATEMENT OF APPEAL
FORMAL PROTEST AGAINST IMPOSITION OF CANDIDATE

Subject: Formal Protest Regarding the Primary Election Outcome for the Ibadan North West State Assembly Ticket

To: The National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)

From: The Oyo State Chairman, APC

I, Adams Adebayo Yusuf, aspirant for the Ibadan North West State Assembly seat, write to formally lodge this protest concerning developments following the APC primary election held on May 20, 2026.

Having participated in the said primary and secured a majority of votes based on the verified ward-level results, it is disheartening to observe moves aimed at undermining the democratic will of the party members through the imposition of an alternative candidate.

Core Grounds of Protest

1. Democratic Mandate: The delegates of Ibadan North West spoke decisively. The collated results from the wards establish my victory and reflect the trust reposed in my agenda of “Connecting the Dots” for infrastructure development and youth empowerment.
2. Integrity of the Process: Any attempt to substitute my name, invalidate the outcome, or substitute another candidate outside the May 20, 2026 primary process constitutes a direct breach of the APC Constitution, Electoral Guidelines, and the rights of the electorate.
3. Party Interest: My commitment to the APC remains unshaken. However, for the party to secure victory in the forthcoming general elections, it must uphold internal democracy, fairness, and grassroots legitimacy.

Prayers/Call to Action

I respectfully call on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress at the state and national levels to

1. Uphold the Verified Results: Recognize and defend the mandate freely given by party members in Ibadan North West.
2. Reject Imposition: Desist from any action that seeks to endorse or ratify a candidate who did not emerge through the recognized primary process.
3. Ensure Transparency: Constitute an objective review panel to examine the election data and confirm the legitimacy of my candidacy.

I remain committed to serving our constituency and delivering the change our people deserve. I trust that the party leadership will act with justice, integrity, and fidelity to the party’s constitution in resolving this matter.
