Oyo North 2027: This victory is not mine alone, it belongs to us all – Ogunesan urges unity, promises inclusive representation

Following the successful conclusion of the APC senatorial primary election for Oyo North Senatorial District, the APC senatorial candidate, Mrs. Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, has extended her heartfelt appreciation to her fellow aspirants for their maturity, commitment, and unwavering dedication to the progress of Oyo North.
Mrs Ogunesan described both distinguished aspirants not only as political associates but as brothers and long-standing friends who share the same vision of building a more prosperous Oyo North. She noted that the primary election was never a battle of enemies but a democratic contest among family members driven by a common desire to serve the people.
”Today, I stand as the party’s candidate because, in every contest, only one person can eventually emerge. This victory is not mine alone; it belongs to all of us. It is a collective victory for everyone who believes in the future of Oyo North and in the ideals of our great party, the APC.”

She appealed to Prof. Adeolu Akande and Col. Gbenga Adegbola, as well as their supporters across the district, to remain united and committed to the common goal of delivering victory for the APC in the forthcoming general election.

According to her, “Our aspirations may have differed, but our mission has always remained the same: to uplift our people and bring quality representation to Oyo North. The primary election has come and gone. Now is the time to close ranks, heal every misunderstanding, and move forward together as one united family.”
Mrs Ogunesan emphasised that politics should never destroy relationships built over many years. She encouraged everyone to preserve the bond of brotherhood and sisterhood that existed before the contest, stressing that friendship and mutual respect must always be stronger than political competition.
Ogunesan further stated that unity within the APC is essential because the real political contest lies ahead. “Rather than dwelling on internal differences, all party faithful should focus their energy on securing victory for the APC against the opposition.
Ogunesan highlighted the importance of a united front, which she stated is, “A united APC stands a stronger chance of winning the general election; victory will ensure quality and effective representation for the people of Oyo North; unity will strengthen the party’s structure across all local governments and wards; working together will preserve the legacy and values of the APC in Oyo North; and collective victory will create greater opportunities for development, empowerment, infrastructure, youth engagement, and inclusive governance.”
Mrs. Ogunesan assured all party stakeholders that her campaign and representation would be inclusive and that every member of the APC family would have a role to play in the journey ahead.
”I therefore invite my brothers, Prof. Adeolu Akande and Col. Gbenga Adegbola, together with all our supporters, to join hands with me. Let us work together, not for personal ambition, but for the future of Oyo North. Let this victory be our victory, and together, by the grace of God, we shall deliver an overwhelming victory for our great party in the general election.”
Ogunesan expressed gratitude to party leaders, delegates, supporters, and the people of Oyo North for their confidence, prayers, and support, pledging to justify the trust reposed in her through humility, dedication, and selfless service.
