Oyo APC Chieftain, Barr Akeem Agbaje Champions Workers’ Cause on May Day

As the sun dawned on May 1st, 2024, the air in Oyo-State was filled with a sense of appreciation and recognition, as Barrister Akeem Agbaje, a prominent figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), extended his heartfelt greetings to the diligent workers of Oyo State and beyond, on the occasion of International Labour Day, also known as ‘May Day’.

In a stirring message resonating with appreciation and admiration, Barr. Agbaje emphasised the indispensable role workers play in the fabric of society. “A single machine can perform the tasks of fifty ordinary individuals. No computer can do the labour of a single exceptional individual… Workers are a nation’s invisible backbone, as it is only because of them that the state, and nation, can stand strong,” he affirmed, encapsulating the essence of their contribution.

Further emphasising the intrinsic connection between hard work and prosperity, Agbaje extended warm wishes for a joyous and fruitful May Day celebration. “All wealth is the result of hard work. I wish everyone a happy and profitable ‘May Day’ with their loved ones! Happy International Workers’ Day,” he declared, echoing sentiments of solidarity and appreciation.

With a keen focus on the welfare of workers, Agbaje saluted the resilience and sacrifice of Oyo State workers and Nigerian workers at large. Recognising their pivotal role in national development, he reiterated his unwavering commitment to prioritising their well-being across all levels of governance.

A scion of the esteemed Agbaje Salami L’Ayeye lineage, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, has long championed the cause of improved workers’ welfare, viewing it as a cornerstone of a progressive society. His dedication to this noble cause resonates deeply within the hearts of the workers he champions.

In the spirit of camaraderie and appreciation, Barr. Agbaje extended his heartfelt wishes for a joyful and successful Labour Day celebration to all Nigerian workers, as they continue to strive towards a brighter and more prosperous future.

As the world commemorates International Labour Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about workers’ rights and acknowledging their invaluable contributions, Nigeria, alongside numerous other nations, observes a national holiday. It serves as a clear reminder of the collective efforts and aspirations of workers worldwide.
