Oyo North APC Women Demand Justice, Fair Representation • Group Backs Ogunesan

WE NOT ONLY BELONG TO KITCHEN, THE OTHER ROOM; WE ALSO BELONG IN POWER: Oyo North Women to APC Leaders.
Oyo North APC Women Demand Justice and Fair Representation
The Women of Oyo North APC can no longer remain silent while our strength, sacrifices, loyalty, and voting power continue to be taken for granted by the political establishment dominated by men.

For decades, women have served faithfully as the backbone of political campaigns, mobilizing support, canvassing votes, defending the party, and standing firmly behind male candidates who repeatedly benefit from our labor and commitment. Yet, when it comes to leadership positions and elective opportunities, women are pushed aside, marginalized, and treated as if we are only good enough to serve but never worthy enough to lead.

Enough is enough.
In the entire political history of Oyo North Senatorial District, no woman has ever been given the opportunity to represent the district at the Senate. This long-standing imbalance is unfair, unjust, and unacceptable in a modern democratic society that claims to support inclusion, equity, and justice.
We therefore reject every attempt to silence, suppress, or intimidate the women of Oyo North who are boldly demanding their constitutional and political rights.
Today, we proudly stand behind one of our own, Mrs. Olawumi Ogunesan MFR, a competent, experienced, respected, and credible leader whose aspiration represents the hopes, dreams, and political awakening of women across Oyo North.
She is not standing alone.
She carries the voices of thousands of women who are tired of being used merely as political instruments and electoral tools. She represents the cry for fairness, equal representation, and genuine inclusion in the leadership structure of our party.
We remind the leadership of APC that women constitute one of the largest voting blocs in Nigeria. We are mothers, professionals, entrepreneurs, mobilizers, community builders, and nation shapers. We deserve not only recognition but also representation.
An injustice against one woman is an injustice against all women.
We therefore call on:
•President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR
•The National Chairman of APC
•The APC leadership in Oyo State
•All party elders and stakeholders
to rise above old political traditions that continually exclude women from power and to support the emergence of a qualified female candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District.
This is not merely about politics.
This is about justice.
This is about fairness.
This is about the future.
The era where women were confined to the kitchen and excluded from decision-making is gone. Women belong in governance, women belong in leadership, and women belong in power.
We are ready to lead, and we are ready to serve effectively.
Let history remember this moment as the time Oyo North APC chose courage, inclusion, and progress over political domination and gender suppression.
The women of Oyo North are united.
Our voices will not be silenced.
Our mandate must be respected.
Signed:
Concerned APC Women of Oyo North Senatorial District
