Oyo North: Ogunesan’s Media Team Urges APC Stakeholders to Reject Division As Group Promotes Unity, Inclusion

The media team of Chief (Mrs) Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, has dismissed a recent publication titled “Political Tension Rises in Oyo North Over Alleged Insults Rained Over Saki-West by Senator Ayoade Adeseun,” describing it as provocative and cautioning the public against drawing conclusions from unverified claims.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Oyo North APC Senatorial Standardbearer, the team said Ogunesan’s campaign is anchored on “truth, unity, and responsible leadership,” adding that she does not support insults or any form of political rhetoric capable of deepening division among communities or undermining political leaders.

The statement appealed to citizens in Oyo North, particularly the people of Saki West and all local governments within the senatorial district, to remain calm and allow facts, fairness, and due process to prevail.

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: OUR COMMITMENT TO UNITY AND PROGRESS

Our attention has been drawn to a publication titled “Political Tension Rises in Oyo North Over Alleged Insults Rained Over Saki-West by Senator Ayoade Adeseun.” On behalf of Chief (Mrs) Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, we wish to state that our campaign is founded on truth, unity, and responsible leadership, not on insults or the politics of division. We respectfully urge the public to avoid drawing conclusions from unverified allegations and to allow facts, fairness, and due process to prevail. As the Yoruba proverb says, “A kì í gbọ́ ẹjọ́ ẹyọ kan ká dá ẹjọ́” one should not judge a matter after hearing only one side.

Chief (Mrs) Hannah Olawumi Ogunesan, MFR, holds the good people of Saki West and every local government in Oyo North Senatorial District in high esteem. She has always stood for peace, inclusiveness, and mutual respect, and has never supported any statement capable of insulting or undermining any community or political leader. Politics should unite rather than divide us. “United we stand, divided we fall,” and as our elders say, “Igi kan kò dá igbó ṣe”—one tree does not make a forest. Our collective strength lies in working together for the progress of our people.

We therefore appeal to all party members, supporters, and the good people of Oyo North to remain calm, reject misinformation, and continue to promote peace and harmony. Let us focus on building a stronger APC and a more prosperous Oyo North through dialogue, respect, and cooperation. May Almighty God continue to bless Saki West, unite Oyo North Senatorial District, grant wisdom to our leaders, and bless our land with lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
