Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the Ibadan South East Local Government and Ibadan Northeast/Ibadan Southeast Federal Constituency, have mobilised support for the APC “landslide victory” in the 2027 general elections.
The APC flagbearer for Ibadan South East Constituency I, Hon. Wasiu Olanrewaju Hamzat, and other party candidates on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, at his Ibadan residence.
Also on the delegation was an influential APC chieftain, Hon. Akeem Olatunji Akogun, and other leaders.

Speaking on the sidelines of the meeting, Hamzat described Arapaja as an astute politician and welcomed his return to the progressive fold.
“We are happy to have Your Excellency back in the progressive fold. You are a born progressive and an astute politician that APC faithful are delighted to welcome back,” Hamzat said.
Hamzat added that the visit reflected unity and commitment within the party ahead of 2027.
“Our great party’s priority is clear, and it’s to work together, mobilise the people and record a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as president, Senator Sharafadeen Alli as governor and for all APC candidates in 2027. With unity of purpose, grassroots mobilisation and unwavering commitment, victory is achievable by His Grace,” he stated.
In his response, Amb. Arapaja thanked the candidates for the visit and expressed delight at their show of solidarity.
“I am delighted to have you all—APC candidates from Ibadan South East Local Government and our Federal Constituency, alongside my brother, Hon. Akeem Olatunji Akogun, and other esteemed stakeholders—here today,” Arapaja said.
“I heartily appreciate you for the visit and for the confidence reposed in our collective leadership. Together, we shall build a stronger political family and deliver victory for the APC come 2027.”
The meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts by the Oyo APC to consolidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
