REMEMBRANCE: Hon Shakirat Adetunji ‘ASHAD’ pays tribute to Sen Abiola Ajimobi
Today marks six years since the passing of a distinguished statesman, an exceptional leader, and one of Oyo State’s finest sons, His Excellency, Senator Isiak Abiola Ajimobi (Akanji Omo Agboluaje).
As we remember the Aare of Ibadanland, we celebrate a life dedicated to service, leadership, and the development of our dear state. Senator Ajimobi was a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the first Governor to serve two consecutive terms in Oyo State. His visionary leadership, commitment to good governance, and transformative policies earned him the enduring title of the Father of Modern Oyo State.
As a proud daughter of Ibadan Northeast/Ibadan Southeast federal constituency , where the Ajimobi family compound remains an integral part of our constituency, I join family members, political associates, admirers, and the good people of Oyo State in honoring the memory of this great leader whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
Though six years have passed, the impact of his service, the values he upheld, and the development he championed remain visible across Oyo State. His contributions to governance and the progress of Ibadanland will forever be remembered.
On this solemn remembrance, I pay tribute to a worthy constituent, an outstanding leader, and a man whose name remains etched in the history of Oyo State.
May Almighty Allah continue to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and comfort his family and loved ones.
