Time to Embrace Peace and Reclaim Agodi for APC in 2027 | By Elder David Oluokun
The primary elections are over. The task before us now is clear and urgent: reclaim Agodi Government House from the APM ( APOMU KPAKI Party) and Governor Seyi Makinde’s Omikomi administration in 2027.
For that to happen, all APC critical stakeholders, leaders, members, and aspirants who contested the primary elections must put the party first and embrace peace.
Oyo State cannot afford another four years of drift. The current government has failed to deliver real development to our people. Yet, we cannot defeat them if we remain divided. Division is what gave PDP (now APM) victory in the past. Unity is what will take it back from them.
Why We Must Unite Now
1. One Goal: Reclaim Agodi:
Our common enemy is not within APC. It is the APM government of Engr. Seyi Makinde and his anointed successor, Bimbo Adekanbi “Opebe” If we do not close ranks, we hand them victory on a platter.
2. A Tested and Ready Leadership:
The party has a credible flagbearer in Barrister Sharafadeen Alli, PhD – BSA. As Senator representing Oyo South, he has shown capacity, integrity, and deep grassroots connection. With him is a loyal and grassroots deputy, Honourable Adesoji Michael Adedeji. This ticket represents experience, unity, and the Renewed Hope agenda.
3. Strength in All APC Candidates:
2027 is not about governorship alone. From House of Assembly to House of Reps to Senate and Council elections, all APC candidates must win. That can only happen when leaders and members work as one family, not as factions.
4. Peace is Strategy, Not Weakness:
To those who contested primaries and did not get the ticket: your structure, your followers, and your voice are still critical to APC. This is the time to sheathe swords and join the winning team. Politics is a marathon. Today’s loss can be tomorrow’s gain in a united party.
The Way Forward.
Let us forgive past grievances. Let us reconcile and reorganise from ward to state. Let us mobilise at the grassroots for BSA for Governor, Hon. Adesoji Michael Adedeji as Deputy, and all APC candidates.
Agodi Government House belongs to the people of Oyo State, and APC is the vehicle to deliver good governance. But we can only drive that vehicle if we are all inside it. The time for blame is over. The time for work is now.
Let us embrace peace. Let us embrace unity.
Let us reclaim Agodi in 2027.
