The news of the passing of Professor Isiaka Kolawole, former Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), a respected community leader from Ward 11, Ibadan South East Local Government, and a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, is deeply saddening.
Professor Kolawole was more than a scholar and public servant; he was a man of conviction, character and service. As an exemplary politician and community leader, he carried himself with dignity, wisdom and uncommon commitment to the progress of his people.
His contributions to education, governance, community development and political organisation have left enduring footprints. He belonged to that rare generation of leaders who understood that politics is not merely about power but about service, responsibility and the advancement of humanity.
His departure has created a painful vacuum, particularly among the people of Ward 11, Ibadan South East, the APC family in Oyo State and all those who benefited from his counsel, leadership and friendship.
Professor Kolawole has departed, but his ideals remain. His voice may have fallen silent, but the echoes of his service will continue to speak. His journey has ended, but the road he paved for others will remain.
In this moment of grief, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, relatives, political associates, friends, the APC family and the good people of Ibadan South East.
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May He also grant his family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
The candle of a great man may go out, but the light of his legacy never dies.
