Wale Babalakin Emerges New MUSWEN BoT Chairman

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has inaugurated a new Board of Trustees (BoT) with Dr. Abdur Rauf Bolanle Olawale Babalakin as its Chairman. The inauguration took place on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the MUSWEN Secretariat in Ibadan.

The 9-member BoT, comprising 7 males and 2 females, was selected from across the 6 states in the South West Zone of Nigeria. The members were chosen for their exceptional leadership qualities, integrity, and commitment to the Muslim community.

The new Chairman, Dr. Abdur Rauf Bolanle Olawale Babalakin, is a renowned legal luminary and philanthropist. He was unanimously elected by the BoT members during their first meeting, which was held immediately after the inauguration.

The President of MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, FCS, performed the inauguration ceremony. In his remarks, he charged the new BoT to work towards the progress and development of the Muslim Ummah in the South-West region.

6. Dr. (Mrs.) Habibat Omolara Adubiaro, Secretary to the Ekiti State Government
7. His Royal Majesty, Oba Engr. Masoud Aweda Oyekola Lawal, Arowoduye II, The Iba of Kisi, Oyo State
8. Alhaji Abdul Ganiyu Adebiyi
9. Barrister Kazeem Olanrewaju

The new BoT is expected to provide strategic leadership and guidance to MUSWEN, working towards the advancement of the Muslim community in the South West region.

Prof. Muslih ‘Tayo Yahya, FAR, FASN, serves as the Executive Secretary/CEO of MUSWEN.
