Ibadan, Oyo State.

Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye has marked his 100 days in office as the Federal Character Commission(FCC) Commissioner with significant achievements in the commission on Tuesday, May 5, at Federal Secretariat, Agodi-Ikolaba, Ibadan.

While reeling out his achievements, Aleshinloye noted that the commission has recorded many successes in Oyo State and across the nation, marking a tremendous change in the commission.

The former Oyo ALGON chairman lauded the executive chairman of the commission, Hon. Hulayat Omidiran, for her vision in strengthening the commission from the federal to the state and local levels. He commended her exceptional leadership in the consideration of the principles of the Federal Character Commission that has been fair to the pacesetter state.

In his first 100 days in office, Aleshinloye has taken the commission from a misunderstood federal body into a responsive, visible, and impactful institution by taking deliberate and strategic steps to reposition the Oyo State Federal Character Commission.

As promised, Aleshinloye has revamped and repositioned the commission’s office, which now reflects professionalism, accessibility, and efficiency in service delivery; improved public awareness and trust by enlightening citizens on the core ethics, principles and constitutional mandate of the Federal Character Commission through public sensitisation and orientation; eliminated job racketeering by bringing an end to such unethical practice; and intensified efforts in monitoring and ensuring compliance by various institutions with the directive and guidelines of the commission, which is essential to achieving fairness, equity, and national unity as enshrined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

As part of his human-capital developmental agenda, Aleshinloye has successfully facilitated employment opportunities for 21 qualified Oyo State indigenes across federal establishments within his first 100 days in office. This has marked a radical turning point in the history of the Federal Character Commission in the state, and he remains committed to expanding such opportunities.

The Federal Character Commission under the leadership of Hon. Hulayat Omidiran has upgraded to the 21st-century standard by launching a digital platform (establishment of the FCC website), which is designed for effective monitoring, reporting, recruitment updates, and dissemination of information regarding the commission’s activities and compliance nationwide.

Aleshinloye hinted that,”The second mandate of the FCC, which also emphasises the equal distribution of infrastructure and social amenities within the public service, reflecting fairness, equity, and balanced representation across federal, state, and local government, is being looked into and repositioned for effective delivery, while deliberate efforts have also been implemented to ensure strict compliance with the principles of the Federal Character Commission at the grassroots level.

Aleshinloye expressed his gratitude to Almighty God and commended the fellow commissioners, state director, and members of staff of FCC for their unwavering support, dedication, cooperation, and professionalism on one hand, and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), family, and friends for their encouragement and support on the other.

Aleshinloye encouraged the indigenes of Oyo State to be showing massive interest in federal government jobs. So that Oyo slots will not be allocated to another state of the federation.
