2027: Aiyedatiwa rallies Ondo behind Tinubu

The Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has highlighted major ongoing road constructions—including the Owo–Benin Expressway, Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, and Ore–Akure Expressway, while assuring that the state will deliver over one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the declaration during the just-concluded APC stakeholders’ meetings held at the three senatorial districts of the state, tribuneonlineng.com reported.

Addressing party leaders and members, Aiyedatiwa described President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms as bold and necessary steps aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy. He acknowledged that while some of the policies may pose short-term challenges, they are already laying a solid foundation for long-term growth, stability, and national prosperity.

The governor pointed to key infrastructure projects currently transforming Ondo State, particularly the reconstruction of the Owo–Benin Expressway, which cuts across Owo and Ose Local Government Areas. He also referenced the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, noting that about 71 kilometers of the project traverse Ese-Odo and Ilaje LGAs, opening up coastal communities to greater economic opportunities.

Aiyedatiwa further emphasised ongoing work on the Ore–Akure Expressway, a critical corridor linking Odigbo, Ondo West, and Ondo East LGAs. According to him, these road projects are significantly improving connectivity, enhancing trade routes, and boosting socio-economic activities across the state.

Reaffirming his administration’s alignment with the Federal Government, the governor urged residents and APC faithful to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid, stressing that continued collaboration between both tiers of government would accelerate development and deliver more dividends of democracy.

The stakeholders’ meetings, held across the three senatorial districts of the state, brought together party leaders, grassroots mobilizers, and government officials, all of whom reiterated their commitment to party unity, strategic mobilization, and electoral victory in the years ahead.
