2027: Kwankwaso predicts landslide victory for Tinubu

…cites broad coalition support

Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has predicted a decisive electoral victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing a growing cross-party alliance consolidating behind the President, thenationonlineng.net reported.

Kwankwaso, Director of Finance at the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, made the declaration in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday.

The APC chieftain noted that the influx of key opposition leaders from across the political spectrum signals unprecedented support for the President’s leadership and economic reform agenda.

According to Kwankwaso, influential figures from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Accord Party have actively participated, strengthening President Tinubu’s re-election campaign structure well ahead of the poll.

Expressing confidence in the newly inaugurated Presidential Campaign Council, Kwankwaso described the level of cross-party endorsement as historic.

“To me, the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council is like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office. What else remains when the same Nigerians we are supposed to campaign for have collectively come forward in unison for one person—Tinubu?” Kwankwaso stated.

He stressed that no sitting president in Nigeria’s political history has drawn such a diverse coalition of traditional political rivals together under one banner.

“It has never happened in Nigeria’s political history that one man could attract nearly all opposition parties—not only opposition politicians, but people who have never agreed to sit together—yet, because of Tinubu, they have agreed to come on board and pursue a common goal,” he added.

Kwankwaso cited supportive remarks from figures such as Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, arguing that key political actors increasingly appreciate the global economic context and the need for President Tinubu’s structural reforms.

He maintained that the 2027 election should not be viewed merely as a routine contest for political office, but as a crucial moment for Nigeria to solidify its ongoing economic transition.

“The 2027 presidential election is not just about political survival; it is a defining moment for Nigeria’s economic future. President Tinubu deserves the opportunity to consolidate his policies despite the temporary difficulties associated with these necessary reforms.”

Looking ahead to local dynamics in Kano State, Kwankwaso expressed optimism that the national political alignment would be mirrored at the state level.

He expressed confidence that top political figures across parties would unite to secure Kano for President Tinubu while supporting a second-term bid for Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo.
